So, I’ve been doing lasagna-gardening style composting in my front yard all fall and winter, getting ready to do landscape gardening this spring. My dilemma is that I really *really* want to plant a tree, but I just don’t know whether or not we will live here longer than 5 years or so. It seems weird to plant a tree (burying my son’s placenta with it, too) and then leave it. Someone tell me I’m crazy and overly attached to nothing? 
I really want to do an apple tree, since both of my boys were born in Sept (an apple-y kind of month, I think!), but beyond that…I’m lost. If it helps, we are in zone 7.
